Colour Theory

Hue
In painting colour theory a hue refers to a pure color—one without tint or shade (added white or black pigment, respectively). A hue is an element of the colour wheel.

"The quality by which we distinguish one color from another, as a red from a yellow, a green, a blue or a purple."

Value
When we describe a color as "light" or "dark", we are discussing its value or "brightness". This property of color tells us how light or dark a color is based on how close it is to white.

Chroma

Chroma is the purity of a color. High chroma colors look rich and full. Low chroma colors look dull and grayish. Sometimes chroma is called saturation
