Proximity

Today we are learning about Gestalt Principles - How the mind organises visual data.
Proximity is a way of grouping objects within a space to show a connection is made between the objects.

I chose the colour wheel as an example to show proximity. They are grouped by primary, secondary and tertiary colours and made smaller to emphasise the differences within the grouping without typography.

Free Internet Logo - for IT

We had to come up with names for Dan to use for a free internet service up the main street.  We picked a few names and then we had the choice in groups to do one Dan chose - Freeload and to also do one we liked the name of and design it and see if we could persuade Dan to use our choice instead for a variety of different logos.

I like the name Baylis Connect so I did that ....

Image Type Integration

The class came up with 5 "themes" - Paradise, Horror, Hip Hop, Evolution & Nostalgia.  Our job was to create 1 A5 poster for each to communicate the culture of each theme using pictures and the text of the theme only.  This could be done in Photoshop but ultimately had to be completed and text done in Illustrator.  Mine are as follows;
